The crankset or chainset is the part of a bicycle drivetrain that transforms the mutual movement of the legs of the rider into a rotational movement used to drive the chain or belt that drives the rear wheel in turn.
The Crank is a general reference to all the trains that drive… The gears, arms of the cranks, spider cranks, and bottom brackets (not including the chain or derailleur). Crank (spider): is the real segment bolted on by the chain rings. Crank Arms: These are the levers to which you mount your pedals.
